If there is a UK event cycling sportive that should be on your bucket list, the Bealach Na Ba sportive is it.
The Bealach na Bà, also known as the "Pass of the Cattle," located on the Applecross Peninsula. This historic drovers' road features the highest ascent of any road in the UK. The climb rises from sea level to 626 meters (2,054 feet) over 9.2 kilometres, with sections reaching up to 20% gradient.
Bealach Na ba may not be the highest road, but it has the greatest ascent as the road starts at sea level. It is a beautiful road that winds its way through dramatic rocky slopes. More commonly known as 'the road to Applecross,' a small village on the west coast of Scotland. A little piece of Alpine heaven in our backyard.
It was even more memorable when Kinesis Ambassador, Rupert Robinson, presented Herbert 'Bert' Hopson with his G2 as the random draw winner to win the bike.
