Dorset Gravel Dash 2026
It’s that time again, the annual pilgrimage from North to South for the Kinesis UK Dorset Gravel Dash. Now it might be quite a trek, driving almost 300 miles from Yorkshire to Dorset, but it’s a fine chance to swap peaty mud for chalk and sand.
Over the years I’ve done quite a few of the Dorset Dashes – the event has been going so long I remember doing the one-day version on the original Tripster ATR prototype! Much like the Tripster, the event has evolved as time has passed, with the addition of the two-day bike packing edition and, new for this year, the 100km event on the Sunday.
Having taken the Fernweh round the bikepacking route last year I thought it might be fun to revisit the Dash with my Tripster ATR, but explore the new one-day 100km loop. It’s funny thinking back to when the Tripster was new and 40mm tyres were considered 'big'! This time I’d fitted 45mm tyres which feels like a nice amount for everything Dorset was about to throw at me.
