"Trail riding" can mean a mellow afternoon on flowing singletrack. It can also mean eyeing a questionable line, pointing the bike downhill, and deciding the brakes are probably optional.
The new Boyd Cycling Bracken Trail wheelset was built for the second group.
At the center of Bracken Trail is an entirely new heat-treated 6061 aluminium rim extrusion engineered around impact resistance.
The rim incorporates a reverse hook at the leading edge of the extrusion, adding material and support where hard impacts punish a rim most. The result is greater resistance to the kinds of square-edge hits and less-than-elegant landings that can quickly end a ride.
Because sometimes you land exactly where you intended.
And sometimes the wheel needs to take it from there.
