Kinesis Mountain Bike Frames

The first Kinesis Maxlight MTB frame was designed back in 2000. It used a high quality Easton tube set and the geometry excelled on the tight, fast, flowing single track that we love to ride. The stage was set. Our new range of MTB frames is small but perfectly formed – choose either the aluminium FF29 for bombing woodland trails and hardcore hardtail fun, or the completely unique Fernweh. This is a head-turning titanium frameset created for the ultimate, life-changing adventure with zero boundaries.

Fernweh – boundless and limitless

We worked closely with Kinesis ambassador Emma Osenton for the last few years to create a bike-packing MTB frame that would withstand the toughest of adventure rides. The result is the Fernweh. 'Fernweh' is 'far-sore' or, more colloquially, 'farsickness'. Fernweh is often described as a longing for distant places, a yearning for travel – and this frameset will take you there and back again.

FF29 – furiously fast

In 2012 we launched the FF29 and it went on to win multiple magazine reviews and awards. For 2024 the FF29 is re-born – longer, lower, meaner – but still frighteningly fast. The geometry has been bought bang up to date, the custom frame build utilises all-new SPF tubing technology and it comes brimming with features designed for UK trails.
