Rupert Robinson

Rupert started cycling properly when he started working in the trade 20 years ago. Prior to this the bike was just seen as transportation for short journeys. As time passed this quickly developed into an addiction with everyday being bike day!

EARLY DAYS

From commuting to road racing, cyclo cross and time trials, Rupert pretty much raced three or four times a week for 15 years. However, since Covid and with no races, long distance became the focus and an introduction into Audax and ultra-distance races.

Cav O’Hara, fellow ambassador, asked Rupert if he wanted to complete the inaugural Trans Alba race in Scotland as a pair in 2019 and since then he's been hooked. The pair went onto to finish the 1,725km race in six days, 20 hours placing third.

Rupert has also raced All Points North in 2021 and 2022, the 28-hour Project race in 2022 and 2023, Wild West Country in 2023 and in the inaugural TA400 mile which he won in 35 hours.

ALL POINTS NORTH

All Points North is a self-supported, ultra-distance, endurance cycling event, organised by Angela Walker from A Different Gear, an independent bike shop in Sheffield. Riders are able to choose their own route around ten checkpoints. In 2021, Rupert finished 9th in 60 hours and 16 minutes, on less than an hour of sleep. The All Points North film documentary follows him from start to finish through the magical landscapes of northern England.
